Wesley's Field Trip

I set up a field trip for Wesley's class to visit Rivertown in Kenner. (I am the parent committee head, so get this blessing -- Luckly April is vice chairman, so she helps me out). The kids will be studying trains in the upcoming weeks, so they visited the Toy Train Museum. They also visited the Mardi Gras Museum and Science Center.

Daniel was on vacation so he was able to go with him. Unfortunately, I could not since I had a field trip at my school the same day. Wes had so much fun. He loved pretending to drive the train at the Train Museum and dressing up in the Mardi Gras Museum.

Enjoying Cookies

Wes and I baked chocolate chip cookies. The boys loved them!!

Wesley's Report Card

Wes received his first report card from Headstart. He did a wonderful job. His teacher constanly tells us how he is so much fun to have in class. It really makes us feel wonderful to know he does so well and get along so well with his classmates.

If you click on the report card, you should be able to see it larger.

Stomach flu

Wow, it has been so long since I have last posted -- sorry. We have struggled with the stomach flu for the past couple of weeks. Aiden started with it the Thursday I returned to school, then Wes, then Alex, then Daniel and I and then I think the twins each had a little case again (or they were finishing it off). However, it happened, I think we are finally doing much better from it. I have heard so many get it much worse than we had it, so we were lucky.

Below I will post many pictures from the past two week. The boys are starting to eat more independently, something their therapists are strongly encouraging. They are talking non-stop, but we still do not understand any of it! We are actually in the process of trying to add speech therapy to their schedule as well. We did slack off on physical therapy since they are doing so well, but the instructional specialist is worried about their speech. I have been told that twins create their own language and usually seem delayed in speech, but I will follow their advice.

Other than that, we are doing great here.

look at that wild hair
We were able to go play outside one day -- we had to get out the house and get some fresh air. The boys love outside. You would never know they were sick!

Aiden was so happy after his bath!

Alex has been back on treatments for a while now -- we are at 4 treatments a day with Xopenex and 2 treatments with Pulmicort. Alex does well with it. He actually will go get the mask and pretend to give himself a treatment. We do give him his pacifier when he does his treatment to help sooth him. He was so tired for this one.
Daddy and Wes pretending to sleep too.
Mashed potatoes!!!
What a messy dinner!! We should have kept the baths for after dinner. Oh, notice Aiden's new do (hair that is). He fought so much when we went get their hair cut we went short, very short.
I went with all 3 by myself but quickly had to call my mom for help. They were both screaming. We can't figure out if it was the scrubs or not -- they recognize nurses so quickly with receiving so many shots monthly. Alex calmed down when Aiden started feeding him cereal. We could not get Aiden happy though and after lots of screaming and holding him down, we finally went down to the razor to help make it even. It is shorter than I would have originally wanted, but there was no way we could have done it any other way.
Wes and PawPaw

I had painted this tabel for Wes' room when we decorated, but for the time being we are moving it to the kitchen. The boys love eating here.
We went to a christening party at Aunt B's yesterday. We tried to get a picture with all the babies, but it was impossible. The party was for Hali and Christopher, Aunt B's 2 new grandchildren who were born only a month apart. There were so many babies there the comment was made over and over about this being a nursery. Seriously, there were about 15 kids younger than Wesley, including another set of twins (boy/girl) born 4 months ago. We had a blast!

Eating Mac and Cheese -- the boys love mac and cheese and would eat it every meal if I would let them. Aiden got tired of the spoon fairly quickly and went ot his hands. It is hard to feed them now-- they want tot do it all themselves.

They were definately full at this point, but they can't resist getting food from PawPaw. Alex was mid getting dressed when he decided to run to get more food.

Good Morning

This video is from a few days ago. The boys are so cute when they wake up. They will talk with each other for quite a while, and when we open the door then tend to go crazy. Of course, when I walk in with a camera in front of me they are more worried about the camera than me walking in.

The reason for this video, however, was to verify what I have been trying to tell everyone. The boys are trying to climb out of their bed. Notice that Aiden started to lift his foot at the same time Alex did, but Aiden does not like to get into trouble. Alex, on the other hand, finds trouble where ever he can. and when he can't find it, he makes it.

Sorry for the abrupt stop on the video, but I needed to stop and correct him . So now answer the poll on the side and/or leave comments to let me know if I should start planning their move to a big bed. I would really love to keep them in the cribs a bit longer, but I know pediatricians advise to move them as soon as they start trying to climb out.

Future Soccer Players?

So what do you think? Do we have a chance?
Wow that's a big ball.
Oops
I got it!
Down again.
I made a goal!

Yeah!
Let's try again!

New Years Day

We had lunch at Granny's today. The kids played so well together. And we had a great afternoon playing cards.

The seesaw was a gift from Granny to the twins. It has been the big hit for every child that has come over (and as you can tell we have many around!)

The twins were chasing Mary Kathryn. Aiden was tagging on to Alex as they chased her around.

New Year's Eve

Well things have sure changed the past couple of years. Many of my friends decided that we were so busy for the holidays we actually looked forward to a quieter night. No going out and late night celebrations. I am sure when the boys are a little older we will enjoy doing that again, but it was nice staying home with the boys. Granny and PawPaw came over and Kelci was spending the night as well. We did a few fireworks and sparklers and then came in to celebrate by watching football (Daniel), Disney Channel (Kelci), and the Ball drop in New York.

Wesley made it to 11:00 but was fast asleep a minute later (truely 1 minute). We went to bed soon after also.

Daniel had me imprint the time and date on this picture. I guess we should have taken a picture before to showed he stayed up late rather than that he was sleeping, right? And yes the time says 11:07 cause it took a few minutes to get the camera, figure out how to imprint date and time (new camera, remember), and finally take the picture.

But Kelci stayed up:

Granny's Birthday

Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday dear Granny!
Happy Birthday to you!

We hope you have a wonderful one!

Even though Granny's birthday is Jan 2nd, we celebrated a little early. On Sunday we BBQ for lunch with Nana and NoNo and then again with Kirby and Shannon for supper.

My Parrain made me look like this!

A nice afternoon to swing -- and take a short break from the Saints game.

Kelci and Shannon with Glenn.

Kelci and Wesley

Kelci came spend close to a week with us. We had a blast. We went meet Daniel for lunch one day -- Wes received a gift certificate from Chili's. (He claims this is his favorite place to eat even though we don't often eat there, or even eat out for that matter. I think it was one of the first places he recognized and was able to say. It is also one of the first things we see as we enter Thibodaux.) We also cooked one of her favorites -and mine - fried shrimp. We watched movies: Shrek, Shrek 3D, and Shrek the third (Wes received these for Christmas); Ratatoulli, which was really cute; and High School Musical 2, who would have guessed. We also rang in the new year, not ours but New Yorks. 11PM was about as long as I could last. It was a pretty packed week, and I think Kelci was pretty exhausted by tonight. BUT then Wes went sleep there for the night! At least she had her Wii now. That is what she missed the most I think, or was it a little quiet. Wes was definately her shadow this week. She couldn't go anywhere without him on her back.

Happy New Year

We hope everyone has a wonderful 2008!!! It is so hard to imagine that 2007 is over and a new year is upon us. I can't even imagine what this year will bring, but I can only guess it will lead to more fun and excitement. We wish everyone a wonderful New Years!!!!
