Wesley's Awards Ceremony Part 2

Wesley's Awards Ceremony

Yesterday was Wesley's Closing Ceremony for Headstart. All centers from the West Bank performed to the theme of School House Rock. They still have a few days left, unfortunately he is now home with a little stomach virus. Hopefully he can go back tomorrow. Here are some pictures from his performance.

Splash!!

Aunt Keena invited us to go over for a swim today. It was just Keena and I with the 5 boys -- a little out numbered, but they were so good! Thanks for such a great time!

Fraternal Twins

I have been receiving more and more comments about how the boys look so different. First of all, I agree. And their personalities can be totally opposite as well. They are definitely fraternal twins (not identical), as are 2/3 of all twins. All boy/girl twins are fraternal and many same sex twins are fraternal. Only fraternal twins can be attributed to heredity. Identical twins are a fluke. So, I came across this poll at twinsmagazine.com that I thought was very interesting. MoT (Moms of Twins) were asked if their fraternal twins look alike. Here are the results:

View Poll Results: How much do your fraternal twins look alike?
1. My fraternal twins don't look alike at all. 40 (35.40%)
2. My fraternal twins look like siblings. 54 (47.79%)
3. My fraternal twins look a lot alike. 17 (15.04%)
4. My fraternal twins look like identical twins - but science says they aren't. 2 (1.77%)
Voters: 113.

I would say that Alex and Aiden definitely look like siblings, but they do not look alike. What do you think?

PawPaw and His Boys

The boys (all three) are always wanting to ride the four wheeler. As soon as we get to Mom's, they grab PawPaw's hand and pull him to the shed. BUT it is hard to ride 3 little ones at one time. Granted, we have become quite good at it, but last night we used the wagon. We hooked the handle of the wagon over the hitch of the bike. We then added a pad to the bottom of the wagon to make it comfortable. The boys went crazy.

Pig Out

Everyone came over Saturday night for BBQ. Heidi brought the dessert -- too perfect!

Making Friends

OK, the title could be deciving. The boys were trying to make friends with a pile of ants. Aiden ran to me right away and I took a couple off his hands and feet. Then I pulled Alex inside and took 2 off his feet. They looked fine and were crying only because I had them inside. I gave then a little Tylenol for the discomfort. They wanted to go back outside to play. I cleaned where the ants were and then let them go out on the other side of the yard. All was well until I said "bath time." When I got Alex undressed, this is what I saw:
(It is hard to see how much red covered his body with the pictures on the computer, but you can see how he was still so happy.)

He never cried once!!!! I have not clue what happened other than to say they got him before I could get to him, and then they all went off. It looks now that it was not as many bites as we thought. He just got really red from some of them. Granted, he did have 30-50 bites, but that night we would have thought it was over 100. Oh and I was home alone with the twins!!! I put them in the tub (Aiden had none other than his fingers). I called my mom. When she got here we called the doctor. Everything we had done was perfect so far -- cool bath, Tylenol, and now he told me how much Benadryl. I think the bath made it look a little worse -- the reddness came out more with the warmth from the water. But he never missed a beat. He played like nothing had happened. Of course, everyone had to come check on him that night, but he was interested in playing. I cannot get over how he did not even really scratch (only in the tub with the warm water). Well, never a dull moment with twin toddler boys, right?

UPDATE: Alex is doing great. He slept the night well and looked much better Thursday morning.

Kelci's Recital

We went to Kelci's dance recital last weekend. She did a wonderful job. Wes and Abby could not keep their eyes open. She did a beautiful job!
