Sunday in the Park

We spent Sunday afternoon at the park for EDW Band's fundraiser. The band played along with other local bands. Daniel also played with his trio. It was a beautiful day.

Kelci spent the weekend with us. We had a great time with her! We can't wait until summer so she can come more!

Parrain Kirb and Aiden -- the slide was too hot for a second round with Alex.

But Alex was having fun in the shade
Alex loves blowing air between his lips and spitting now! Watch out when you are near him. You just may beed an umbrella.

9 Month Checkup

The boys did very well at their appointment today. Alex weighed in at 17lbs 10 ounces and Aiden at 19lbs 12 ounces. Aiden is also an inch and a half longer/taller than Alex. This puts Alex in the 10-15 percentile and Aiden around the 30-35 percentile. Dr. Peltier assured us the the range of "normal" is very wide so not to be too concerned about developement at this point.
Aiden's developmental age would be around 7 months while Alex's is closer to 8 months. (This does not mean much since Aiden had usually been ahead of Alex. Alex could have a growth spurt soon and Aiden have more of a developemental spurt.)

More Pictures

We took 9 month pictures for the twins Saturday at Joan Delatte's. Here is the link to her website: http://joandelatte.photosite.com/Templet/. The qality is a little better than the ones I copied here.

They took about 150 pictures in 30 minutes. They were very happy and did a great job.

Alex is not too excited about showing off his new teeth, but you can see them a little in the picture above in the white chair.

9 months

I cannot believe that we are getting so close to 1 year old already! The twins have grown so much in the past couple of months. They play so well and really know faces now.

Here are the things they should be able to do at 9 months:

  • bear some weight on legs when held upright (both)
  • feed self a cracker (both)
  • pass an object from 1 hand to another (both)
  • rake a raisen and pick it up (both)
  • turn in direction of a voice (both)
  • look for a dropped object (both)

...will probably be able to do:

  • stand holding on to someone or something (Alex does well; Aiden somewhat)
  • object if you take a toy away (both)
  • work to get a toy out of reach (both)
  • play peekaboo (both very little)
  • get into sitting position from stomach (neither)

What to look for next:

  • pull up to a standing position
  • patty cake and bye bye well
  • walk holding on to furniture
  • stand alone momentarily
  • understand the word no

Crawling!!! Alex is really trying to start. He puts one leg/knee the correct way, but then falls on his stomach trying to get the other. Aiden is just stretching to reach toys now. I guess crawling will be in the next month or so.

Alex now has 2 teeth coming. Aiden still has one, but another is one the way.

Alex is a little ocer 18 pounds and Aiden is about 20. We go for their check up on Wednesday for exact measurements!

Growing Pains

The twins have both been suffering with teething, or so we thought. Aiden's tooth came out Tuesday and Alex's 2nd tooth started to cut through today. They have been pretty good with teething -- lots of drooling, but just a little fussiness at times. Aiden's gums have been so swollen that at times we could not even feel his tooth, even after it cut through.

We did have to bring Aiden in to the doctor Friday. The boys (all 3) were suffering from a bacterial eye infection a few weeks ago, a form of pink eye. They were all doing much better, but Aiden started again, but worse. He also had a little rash around his eyes and the skin around his eyes were red and irritated. When we went in, we also discovered an ear infection. Alex was checked and then we had 2. We had pressumed the low grade fever and fussiness was teething, but I guess it could have been the ears. So now, they are on antibiotics for the ears. This will also hep Aiden's eyes and he has an ointment to put around and in his eyes. We go back Wednesday for their 9 month appointment.

We are lucky that both are very happy and not fussing much with the infections. They seem to be the picture of health in most ways.

Enjoying the Outdoors

We were able to enjoy a little outdoor time today. Wes played with a sprinker toy. He was shy at first, but soon enjoyed running through the water.

Teething

For months now, we have been battling the symptoms of teething with both of the boys. Now we finally have something to show for it. Alex's first tooth started to cut through Thursday and we can see Aiden's, but it has not actually cut through his gums. Sorry we don't have any pictures. Alex is not yet willing to show off his new pearly white.

Jumpin' Fun

This week I took Wesley to Jump and Jive in Prairieville. He was slightly nervous about the large slides, but as soon as he went on the first one, there was no stopping him.

My mom had a little test done at the hospital. Wesley was so well behaved, the nurses kept bringing him treats. Here he is with the balloon they gave him.

Easter -- Afternoon

The Templet family came over Easter afternoon and stayed for supper. They were amazed at how much the boys had grown. Here Aunt Maggi and Uncle Kevin were watching the boys hold their bottles. The boys enjoying their wagon

Easter -- Lunch

We went to Granny and PawPaw's for lunch. Nanny Heidi gave Wes a Nemo swimsuit and towel and candy.

Abby eating her first brownies.
Wes received this boomerang from Nana and Kelci.
And the twins received this awesome wagon from their nannies and parrains. They love it.

Easter Sunday Morning

Wesley woke up Sunday morning forgetting for just a minute that the Easter Bunny had passed -- just a minute. All 3 boys received books and a little candy. Wes also received sandels and flip flops and a couple shirts; the twins had swings.

We then went to Granny and PawPaw's. They babysat as we went to church. We decided not to take Wes because it would be packed and a little longer. He was also too excited to leave. All 3 received camo bags and tons of clothes. The now have swim suits and towels and toys for the beach. After mass we came back home so the boys could play with their toys while we cooked for the Templet family to come over.Wes received a bike from Parrain. Too bad it was too cold to ride for very long.

Holy Saturday

On Saturday, we visited with Aunt Kristen who came in from Texas for Easter. We were also able to see Jennifer and Jack and Jamie and Taylor while we were in Labadieville.

Parrain Kevin, Wes, and Jack playing with the tiger.
