Well not too much has changed this week. I am enjoying a relaxing extended weekend with Mardi Gras holidays on Monday and Tuesday. We unfortunately have to go back to school on Wednesday.

OK -- on the latest poll results:
2 boys -- XXX (3)
2 girls -- XXXXXXX (7)
1 of each - XXXXX (5)

2 girls are leading the votes. Please keep voting if you have not yet and I will update again next week.

Poll

Babies Poll
Will it be 2 boys, 2 girls, or 1 boy and 1 girl?
Please respond under comments for your vote.
We will tally votes and keep you updated on the results.
Sorry that this is not a real poll but I did not have time to figure out all I needed to know to do that.
The true results will be here in a couple of weeks -- if the babies agree to let us know.
*If you do not want to sign up, vote under anonymous and put your name in the comments section.

Another Quiet Weekend

We had another quiet weekend this week. Friday night was Beth Terracina Clause's Baby shower. Other than that we stayed home and relaxed, according to doctor's orders. After speaking with the doctor again today (I had some cramping this weekend), she said I must start taking it easy. It is hard though. I am not used to sitting around all day, but it's doctor's orders. Hopefully we will have another uneventful week -- I will have enough excitement in a few months!

Relaxing in Dulac

Last weekend we spent a nice weekend at a fishing camp in Dulac. We unfortunately could not go fishing though because it was so cold. As hot as this winter has been, our first weekend to do something outside turned freezing. It was nice to have time to just relax, and that we did.

Doctor Appointment

I am blessed to have an ultrsound almost every time I go to the doctor. My 2nd ultrasound was Wednesday. The ultrasound was longer than normal due to technical difficulties, but we were able to watch the babies the entire time. It was truely amazing to see two little ones kicking and moving so much. This definately helps me feel better about all those days that I have been so sick.

Baby A measured 11 weeks and Baby B measured 11 weeks 6 days. This was due to the fact that A was slightly hunched over. The doctor said both looked wonderful and the measurements were right on target. Heartbeats were 175 and 178 respectively. Of course there is no truth to the old wives tale about fast and slow heartbeats related to the sex of the babies.

The doctor also let me know to expect a late July or early August delivery. If I can make it to 35 weeks, she will be very happy that the developement will be far enough along. 37 weeks would be the best, but many do not make it this far along.

New Purchase

One of the first thing I realized with the extra additions to the family, it that neither of our vehicles would easily accomidate 2 car seats and a booster. We decided to sell Daniel's truck. After we had a buyer we found a great deal on a 2005 Ford Freestar van. It was a programmed vehicle and too good to pass up.

Wow ... Exciting News!

On January 10, I went to the doctor to date the pregnancy and ensure everything was on track. Well . . . it was, but for two not one. Daniel, unfortunately, was not at this appointment ( which I thought was not a huge deal until I found out this news). I amsure he will not miss another appointment now.

The twins are measuring right on track and their heartbeats are 135 and 130 respectively. From now on the babies are names Baby A and Baby B to track measurements.

This will be a whole new ballgame for us now.

As far as knowing if they are identical or fraternal, we can't know at this point. Both are in separate sacks, which is really good news for any twins. It is possible for identical twins to be in the same sack, but it makes the pregancy a lot more high risk. It is possible for identical to be in separate sacks also, but fraternal are also in separate sacks, so for now we will not know. The eariest point to discover this is when we see the sex of the babies. If there is one boy and one girl, then we know they are not identical.

Christmas 2005

We found out Christmas morning that we were pregnant! We decided to tell our families as we opened gifts. The last gift to open was a gift to Wesley from Baby Jesus. It was actually a gift certificate for a new baby redeemable in August 2006. Everyone was extremely excited as we spread the news!

Our due date is August 27, 2006.
